National Natural Park of Zaamin
National Natural Park of Zaamin was formed in 1976 with purpose to preserve unique landscape, almost untouched, natural fir woods with fauna and flora. The territory of park is located in Zaamin area of Dzhizak region on northern slopes of Turkestan ridge with Total Square of 23894 hectares, at the height from 1000 to 4033m above sea level that is the highest top on crest of Turkestani ridge -peak of Shaukartau. Here, there are deep dizzy canyons with the most beautiful Sharillak falls, the road-streamer withdrawing to equal, as Sufa plateau, panorama. It is the central part of National Natural Park at the height of 2482м above sea level. The climate of region is sharply continental. The highest air temperature is June-August; the lowest is in December-January. The first frosts are at the end of September, the latest are in May. Fallouts are about 405мм 70 percent from which are in April-October. Summer fallouts are in the form of rain, and on tops of mountains is snow. Winter snowfalls in the high-mountainous zone are frequently till June. The flora is diverse due to fluctuations of high-rise marks, relief ruggedness and soil-climatic conditions. In the territory of park, there are three vegetative zones: mountain steppe, wood, high mountainous (sub alpine) where grows more than 800 kinds of plants. In the territory of park, it is possible to meet medicinal and ornamental plants that are in «Red book» of Republics of Uzbekistan, such as tulip, saffron of Korolkov, crested bird of Severtsev, Dzhizak kuziniya, pedicellate onion, etc. It is necessary to notice that there are more than 216 kinds of pileate fungi. Deciduous nut and fruit plantings, fir woods with various bushes: hawthorn, honeysuckle, barberry are fine, rich, natural fodder grounds, places for nests and refuges, provide life for complex of biodiversity. The fauna in National Natural Park is interesting and various. Here you can find and Turkestan dragon lizards, patterned whip snakes, deserted lidless skinks, grass lizards, etc. Black-throated trushes, Turkestan starlings, tawny owls, chukars are usual in the woods of park. It is possible to meet brown and stony water ouzels, dark blue bird, and titmouse of fine near the falls. From mammals there are wolfs, wild boars, foxes, porcupines, wood sleepyheads, small animal caress, hares, badgers. High in mountains, in gorges there are nests of large birds of prey: black signature stamps, bearded men - lammergeyers, white-headed vultures, golden eagles. In places inaccessible to man, in gorges, there are nests of black storks. Central Asian mountain goat lives in alpine and sub alpine zones. Such kinds of park inhabitants brown bear of Tjan-Shan, Turkestan lynx, eagle-dwarf, golden eagle, bearded man, black signature stamp, white-headed vulture, black stork are in « Red book» of Republics of Uzbekistan. The national park is rich of fir woods and fir grove. The smell of ether proceeding from fur-trees favorably influences on health. Sanatorium "Zaamin", located at territory of national park, at height of 2000 meters above sea level, is unique clinic in the Central Asia on treatment of diseases of respiratory ways. Natural climate of Zaamin is compared to Switzerland. The sanatorium is located on the bosom of green fur-trees and amazing mountains view. There are more than 50 kinds of medical plants. Here, it is basically conducted treatment of respiratory organs and diseases of nervous system are. The basic source of treatment is mountain climate.
